“ Yes I can” says Catherine Nabikolo

“ Yes I can” says Catherine Nabikolo

Catherine Nabikolo aged 12 years is a special needs child with multiple disabilities.

She was brought to CSU(BCH) on 14th July 2017 through the office of the district senior probation and welfare officer, after being found locked in a house, starved, and almost left to die by her real parents.

At the time we got Catherine, she looked extremely malnourished, anemic, weak, and unable to stand.
Unlike for other children, Catherine’s development has been slow due to the longtime abuses she faced while with her parents which has resulted in several mental and physical impairments, and indeed a lot has been since commitment to improving her health and restoring her hope to live a normal life like other children which include regular physical and mental therapies.

Bravo! A few weeks ago, Catherine amused everyone when she crawled out of her usual resting place and reached the basin to help her caretaker with washing. Her energy in both hands and agility to imitate what she normally sees her caretakers do was a great assurance that indeed someday Catherine will rise up and live a normal life like any other child.
